The table makes the room

Funny story, The hubs & I went to a few furniture stores looking for the perfect dining room table! See this room had to be perfect! Its the space that we have always wanted! We are a family who entertains a lot! Our home is always filled with family & friends! We wanted a space for our loved ones to feel special when they ate with us! Because they are special to us! So back to the story ;) After looking and siting at a dozen furniture store floor models of tables we both looked up at each other with smiles, something clicked! Lets build our own! Heck its not like our plates are full enough with the two growing boys, building a home, his job, my job and taking care of our old house chores lets add building a table to the madness! Thank god for our uncle Keith who shares in the majority of our projects with us! He helped us with building our table that we felt was perfect enough to hold our gatherings with our loved ones!

CRAP the chairs? We thought the table through but chairs? I found 4 solid black wooden chairs on craigslist one night while scrolling! Solid black? oh these are going to require a lot of tlc the black just has to go! SO we purchased those 4 dark black chairs and i started sanding! As i sanded, sanded & sanded some more i started noticing how simply stunning it was for the wood grain to shine though the black paint! Then i had one of those WOW moments, this is it! These are our chairs this is how we are going to finish them!

The host & Hostess chairs are yellow padded fabric chairs with studded seems ! The perfect way of bringing our kitchen yellow into our dining room

Hi, my name is Brittney and im a pioneer women addict!

The framed burlap art was a idea that i had to add something unique to this big blank wall. Well with any idea you have to have away to make it become reality! Thanks to my sweet friend at Kaylas Custom Goodies She made my vision reality! These framed farm animals and cooking herbs was the perfect addition to our dining room

I could only dream of filling our china cabinet with Rae Dunn pieces but realistically spending $80 on a pitcher that says pour isn't something that i would want to do plus the hubby would have a hard time understanding that purchase =)

So what does our beloved china cabinet (which we re-did ourselves) hold? Treasures, yes that's right our treasures! The china that was given to us as a wedding gift, my late grandmothers mixing bowl, plate, tea kettle and serving dish! The tea kettle was given to us by my Nana And the rest of my beloved grandma dishes were housewarming gifts that were also heartwarming gifts From my aunt Patricia (a few tears were shed while opening the gift)

The china cabinet was one of those FB online garage sale finds! Gezz this thing was ugly! With its dark paneling and even darker back splash! Yellow was the color these beauty was meant to be! With chicken wire cabinets & a white back splash! We was able to trasfer her to a shabby chic china cabbinet
